Do I need to bring my own mat?

Yes please – bringing your own mat helps you feel more comfortable and keeps things hygienic for everyone. If you don’t have one yet, I’m happy to recommend a good starter mat that’s affordable and easy to carry.

Do I need to bring a blanket and pillow?

Sometimes when we meditate after movement, our body temperature may change due to reducing heart rate so yes some people like to cover themselves with a blanket and rest their head on a pillow but this is optional.

Can I just turn up to a village hall class?

Absolutely – you’re very welcome to drop in. Just arrive a few minutes early to get settled, especially if it’s your first time. If you’d like to let me know you’re coming, even better – but it’s not essential.

I’ve never done yoga or meditation before – is that OK?

Yes – total beginners are always welcome. All of my sessions are gentle, guided, and designed to be accessible for everyone, no matter your age, experience, or flexibility.

What should I wear?

Just wear something comfy that you can move and relax in – stretchy trousers or leggings, a t-shirt or light jumper, and layers you can adjust if you get warm or cool. No shoes needed – we practise barefoot or in socks.

What’s a Reiki session like? Will I feel anything?

Reiki is deeply relaxing – you’ll lie down fully clothed while I gently place my hands on or just above different areas of your body. You might feel warmth, tingling, or just a lovely sense of calm. Many people simply drift into a peaceful, meditative state.

How do I pay for a class or session?

You can pay by cash or bank transfer – whatever’s easiest for you.

Can I bring a friend?

Yes, of course! Whether it’s a village hall class or a private outdoor session, friends are always welcome – just let me know in advance so I can make space.

I struggle to switch off – will meditation or mindfulness help me?

Absolutely. You don’t need to be able to “clear your mind” to benefit – that’s a common myth. My meditation and mindfulness sessions are designed to help you gently slow down, reconnect with your breath, and become more present. Even if your mind feels busy, you’ll still leave feeling calmer, clearer, and more grounded.

I’ve practised yoga or meditation for years – do you offer anything more tailored?

Yes, I offer one-to-one sessions at my peaceful private studio, where we can focus on your goals – whether that’s building strength, developing breathwork, deepening mindfulness, or exploring energetic practices like Reiki. Just get in touch, and we can create something just for you.
