Reiki
What is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese healing technique that promotes deep relaxation, emotional balance and physical healing. It is based on the idea that a universal "life force energy" flows through all living things. When this energy is low or blocked, we are more prone to illness and stress; when it's flowing freely, we feel healthier, happier, and more at ease.
The word Reiki comes from two Japanese words: Rei, meaning “God’s wisdom” or “higher power”, and Ki, meaning “life force energy.” Together, Reiki means “spiritually guided life force energy.”
During a Reiki session, the practitioner channels this energy through their hands, either gently placed on or just above the body. Clients often describe the experience as a warm, glowing sensation or a calming energy flowing through them. Reiki works holistically, supporting the physical body, emotional wellbeing, mental clarity and spiritual connection.
While it is spiritual in nature, Reiki is not a religion and does not require belief to be effective. It is a simple, natural, and safe method of healing that works alongside all other forms of medical or therapeutic treatment. Reiki has been used by people of all ages and backgrounds, and can help ease pain, support recovery, reduce emotional stress, and create a lasting sense of peace.

Meditation
What Is Meditation?
Meditation is a contemplative practice found in many spiritual and philosophical traditions. At its core, it’s about calming the mind, developing self-awareness, and creating space for personal or spiritual growth.
While some styles aim to quiet the mind completely, meditation doesn’t require you to have an empty head. Thoughts will come and go – and that’s perfectly normal. The practice lies in noticing when the mind has wandered and gently guiding it back to a point of focus. That focus could be the breath, a sound, a visual image, a mantra, or even a feeling.
There are many types of meditation, including:
Guided meditation
Visualisation
Mindfulness
Movement-based meditation (like yoga or walking)
Mantra meditation
Transcendental meditation
In Sanskrit, meditation is known as Dhyana – a state of deep presence and connection.

Yoga
What Is Easy Stretch Yoga?
Easy Stretch Yoga is a gentle, accessible practice that supports both physical and mental well-being. Rooted in the ancient traditions of yoga, this style focuses on soft, steady movements, mindful breathing, and deep relaxation – making it ideal for all ages, fitness levels, and abilities.
While yoga has been practised for over 5,000 years in various forms, the core aim remains the same: to connect body, breath and mind in a way that reduces stress, eases discomfort and enhances overall awareness. Easy Stretch Yoga simplifies this approach, offering a slower, more nurturing experience that encourages rest, flexibility, and inner calm.
A typical session includes a gentle warm-up, a sequence of slow, guided postures, breathwork, and a calming cool-down. Some classes also include moments of meditation or guided stillness. There is no pressure to perform – the focus is on moving in a way that feels good for your body.

Breath Work
What is breath work?
Breathwork is the practice of consciously controlling your breath to influence your physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing. Unlike the automatic way we breathe throughout the day, breathwork invites you to slow down, tune in, and use specific breathing patterns to feel more balanced and in control.
There are many styles of breathwork – some are calming and restorative, while others are energising, clearing or even deeply transformative.
🔑 Key Aspects of Breathwork
🧘♀️ Conscious Breathing
Rather than breathing on autopilot, you intentionally regulate your breath – adjusting its depth, rhythm and speed to influence how you feel.
🌿 Different Techniques, Different Effects
Some breathwork styles promote relaxation, others boost focus or vitality. Each technique offers unique benefits depending on your needs in the moment.
🧠 Mind–Body Connection
The breath is a powerful bridge between body and mind. Breathwork uses this link to help calm the nervous system, regulate emotions, and restore balance.

Breath practices appear in traditions like yoga (pranayama) and Qigong, and are now widely used in wellness, sport, mental health and performance settings.
